What is QWO?

More than 90% of women have cellulite. The most common cause of cellulite is the hardening of the fibrous septae that connect the dermis to the underlying fascia. This hardening is responsible for the dimpled, cottage-cheese-like appearance called cellulite on the skin.*

QWO reduces the appearance of cellulite by releasing the hardened fibrous septae that cause skin dimpling, redistributing fat and stimulating the growth of new collagen.*

Frequently Asked Questions

How Does It Work?

How it works to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe cellulite is not fully understood. Enzymes in QWO, called collagenases, are believed to target structural cause under the skin.

QWO is thought to work in 3 ways:

  1. releasing fibrous bands,
  2. redistributing fat cells, and
  3. stimulating the growth of new collagen.

The enzymes in QWO break down old collagen particles. New collagen particles are produced where the cellulite dimples are. The breakdown of the fibrous septae results in smoother skin and substantial reduction of dimpling.*

What Are the Results with QWO?

Visible cellulite reduction in the treated areas may be achieved in 10 weeks. In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO, 21 days apart.*

How Soon Will I See Results? How Long Will They Last?

Patients typically see visible cellulite reduction 10 weeks after the initial treatment. Results are expected to last for many years, making QWO treatment an excellent value.*

How Has QWO Been Tested?

QWO has been studied in more patients than any other FDA-approved cellulite treatment. Over 1,800 women participated.

Two pivotal phase 3 clinical studies of adult women with moderate to severe cellulite were conducted. 424 women were treated with QWO and 419 received placebo. Each woman received 3 treatments given 21 days apart.

Some women and their aesthetic specialists both agreed they noticed less dimpling after treatment. Results were assessed 28 days after the 3rd treatment.*

Are There Side Effects?

QWO may cause serious side effects including allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, including anaphylaxis, and injection site bruising.

The most common side effects of QWO include: injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling and warmth in the treatment area.

Women required no post-treatment downtime in clinical trials. Most bruising lessened after each treatment. Bruising resolved in less than 21 days.*

These are not all the possible side effects of QWO.
