Frequently Asked Questions
What is Halo Laser Treatment?
Halo laser treatment produces dramatic results through photorejuvenation. Fabulous results with minimal downtime are seen with Sciton’s latest hybrid fractional laser skin resurfacing. With fractional laser skin resurfacing, the laser removes only a part of your skin’s surface. The laser is fractional or fractionated, applying energy in a pattern that destroys some parts of the skin and leaves other parts intact. Faster healing time and fewer complications result from leaving part of the skin undamaged to rejuvenate the skin surface. Halo’s unique hybrid technology gets the job done without the painful, long recovery time from many other laser treatments.*
What Happens During the Treatment?
The pulses of laser light are passed over the skin that last less than a millisecond. You will feel minimal to no discomfort. Your skin will be treated one section at a time by rolling the Halo hand piece in a criss-cross pattern. As the laser is passed over the skin, it delivers energy in short pulses. The treatment is progressively applied to the target treatment areas. The entire procedure typically requires under 30 minutes to perform, depending on the areas being treated and the patient goals.*
When Will I See Results?
You will see initial results between day two and day five after your Halo laser treatment. Your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the most improvement in the first two to three weeks.*
How Long Will My Results Last?
If you keep your new healthy skin protected at all times using UV sunscreen, your Halo results can last for years.*
What Side Effects Are Typical with the Treatment?
As with any medical procedure, side effects and healing time vary by patient. Typical side effects from laser treatments include: swelling, redness and skin crusting. Skin redness typically lasts for several days to weeks.*
Halo laser treatments pose little risk for blistering or scarring. For patients with olive or darker skin, hyperpigmentation is a potential risk.*
Your free pre-treatment consultation will identify if you are a good candidate. At the consultation, you will be informed of the expected extent of your procedure to achieve your goals, the expected recovery period and how soon after the treatment you may expect to see full results.*
After receiving Halo laser treatment, the skin in the treated areas must be protected for the first 24 hours according to instructions. After that, you will be able to go about your normal activities. After the first 24 hours, your skin will begin to peel but you will be able to put on makeup.*
What is the Difference Between Ablative and Non-ablative Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Ablative laser skin resurfacing removes the top layer of your skin. They are very effective at treating wrinkles, scars, and other skin concerns. Ablative resurfacing actually removes the top layer of skin. This results in significant downtime for healing.
Non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation is less invasive. Non-ablative procedures employ heat to stimulate cells and thicken the underlying collagen to improve your skin tone and elasticity. Non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation does not remove all skin. This results in a more rapid recovery and less downtime.
This treatment is hybrid fractional ablative and only removes part of the skin by applying laser energy in a pattern. This produces dramatic results with less downtime and recovery.*
How Much Does the Treatment Cost?
Forever Young BBL starts at $999 for full face treatment.
What Should I Expect During the Treatment?
We will apply a topical numbing cream to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. Halo laser treatment uses a hybrid fractional lasers in a combined treatment that takes less than 30 minutes. After the procedure, your skin may be covered with Aquaphor – a petroleum jelly – to protect your skin and promote faster healing.*
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
During your free consultation, we will advise you on the number of laser treatments you’ll need to achieve your personal goals. Patients typically start with one treatment. Once the results of the first treatment are seen over several months, the treated area will be reassessed to determine if another treatment is needed. Multiple treatments are recommended for optimal results, although substantial improvement may be seen with a single treatment.*
Results per treatment vary based on skin quality and thickness and the settings used on the device during the treatment. When more aggressive settings are used, patients typically see significant improvement with one treatment.*
