Frequently Asked Questions
What is ThreeForMe Laser Skin Resurfacing?
ThreeForMe is a laser skin resurfacing treatment that uses two photorejuvenation treatments to improve the appearance of skin. The ThreeForMe treatment is performed using the state of the art Icon Aesthetic System by Cynosure/Palomar IPL Photo Facial and laser skin resurfacing are combined in one treatment.*
What Happens During the Treatment?
The ThreeForMe treatment is performed in two steps, that may be referred to as “passes”:
- The first pass uses IPL to treat any discoloration for a more balanced looking appearance. This treats sun-damage such as freckles, brown spots, or age spots. This will also correct any facial veins including broken blood vessels, spider veins and rosacea.*
- The second pass uses a “microbeam” laser that will gently renew the skin for a smoother-looking appearance. It works by promoting new collagen and elastin production in the skin. This leads to the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, scars and other surface imperfections.*
What Side Effects Are Typical with the Treatment?
As with any medical procedure, side effects and healing time vary by patient. ThreeForMe side effects can include: redness, swelling, minor bruising, itchiness, peeling and scabbing.*
Your free consultation will identify if you are a good candidate. At the consultation, you will be informed of the expected extent of your procedure to achieve your goals, the expected recovery period and how soon after the treatment you may expect to see full results.*
How Much Does the Treatment Cost?
Laser skin resurfacing starts at $599 for a single full face treatment. More than one treatment may be required, depending on your personal goals and skin condition.*
What Should I Expect During the Treatment?
We will apply a topical numbing cream to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. ThreeForMe typically requires 30 to 60 minutes to perform. After the procedure, your skin may be covered with Aquaphor – a petroleum jelly – to protect your skin and promote faster healing.*
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
During your free consultation, we will advise you on the number of ThreeForMe treatments you’ll need to achieve your personal goals. Patients typically start with one treatment. Once the results of the first treatment are seen over several months, the treated area will be reassessed to determine if another treatment is needed.*
ThreeForMe treatment results per treatment vary based on skin quality and thickness and the settings used on the device during the treatment. When more aggressive settings are used, patients typically see significant improvement with one treatment.*
Is There Downtime with ThreeForMe?
There is minimal downtime with ThreeForMe. You can usually expect to resume normal daily activities on the same day you are treated. With the redness and swelling you have a day or two of downtime from social activities.*
To avoid complications and obtain the best possible outcome, it is recommended that you stay out of the sun for a week or two and avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours before your treatment. Treatments should never be done over recently tanned skin. Staying out of the sun during the 2 weeks following treatment when spots are flaking off and new skin is exposed is also important.*
Most people experience a mild, sun-burn like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling, immediately following the treatment. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours. Speak with your provider to discuss other possible side-effects and the necessary post-treatment care.*
How Long Do Results Last?
With use of sun protection, the results can last for years. Skin is genetically programmed to pigment in response to UV radiation exposure. It is impossible to avoid all sun exposure but the more avoidance the less pigment. Even with the best of skin care and protection, new brown spots may emerge gradually over time.*
It is recommended that a skin care regimen be followed. To protect your skin, you should use sun screen and also utilize skin care products designed to suppress new development spots and discoloration.*
